Tyler Perry was born in New Orleans,Louisiana,on September 14 1969, to Maxine and Emmitt Perry. He changed his first name to Tyler at age 16 to dissociate himself from his abusive father. Perry grew up in proverty and did not complete high school, although later he did earn his General Education Development(GED).
Around 1990, Perry moved to Atlanta, where two years later I Know I’ve Been Changed was first performed at a community theater, financed by the 22-year-old Perry’s $12,000 life savings. The play included Christian themes of forgiveness, dignity, and self-worth, while addressing issues such as child abuse and dysfunctional families. The musical initially received a “less than stellar” reception and was a financial failure.[
Tyler Perry is a comedian, actor, producer, filmmaker, playmaker, and community activist. Tyler Perry is one of the highest paid entertainers in history. Some of his most popular work comes from the OWN where he’s produced countless series all with a different level of success. Perry is from a small town in Louisiana and rose to fame back in the early 2000s with his character “Madea” being a hit with audiences. His rapid rise to fame has allowed him to give back to 9 different charities and 12 different causes. Perry did not graduate from high school, he earned his GED and STILL is one of the most successful African American men today. The American dream is a real thing and I believe that Tyler Perry is a good example of overcoming your past to strengthen your future.

Also,in a rare one-hour-long, wide-ranging interview, Tyler Perry talked about his journey from living out of his car 25 years ago to becoming the owner of a major studio, and his thoughts about possible development outside the studio’s fence. Now if this isnt accuracy in business I dont know what is.
